Enrolling

Parents interested in enrolling at Central Day Care Centre are requested to contact the supervisor and arrange for a visit. Your name will be placed on a waiting list and you will be notified when an opening becomes available.

If space is available at the time you require a spot for your child, we will arrange a time for you to visit and pick up the forms to be completed prior to starting. Visit dates will be arranged for you to come with your children and spend some time in the program getting to know the staff and the routine. This will be arranged between the supervisor and the families.

We will verify the information on your child's forms regularly, but ask that parents let us know as soon as possible when any key information changes. In particular, this form will specify your child’s food allergies, emergency contacts and names of the people who have permission to pick up your child.

Withdrawal Notice

We require two-week written notice if families are planning to withdraw their child from the program, however if you know earlier we appreciate the notice. Your cooperation in giving advance notice will help us plan for the next child. Parents are responsible for fees during the notice period.

Late Pick-Up

If for some reason you will be unable to pick up your child by 5:30 pm, please notify the centre. In these circumstances alternative arrangements should be made. Our policy is a fine of $1.00/minute late, commencing at 5:31pm.

The total late fee is due in cash to the staff on duty. It is payable immediately upon pick-up. If you do not pay at the time of pick up, you will be required to sign a late fee form stating to whom the money is owed and how much.

If you or an authorized person do not pick up your child by 5:30 p.m. and you have not contacted us, we:

5:45pm – Telephone you again – If you are not reached, telephone the emergency contact people in the order listed in your child’s file. If no one arrives to pick up the child, we will attempt to contact you or another contact listed in your child’s file.

If, by 6:30pm we have not reached anyone indicated in the file, we are required to notify the Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton.

Other Absences:

Childcare fees apply and must be paid in full for any statutory holidays, any absences due to vacation, illness or just a day off.
